Destination: Hanoi – Bat Trang ceramic village – Dong Ho Folk painting village – But Thap pagoda – Hanoi
Bat Trang is Vietnam’s oldest and most famous pottery village, located just outside of Hanoi on the banks of the Red River in the Gia Lam district. For over 600 years, the village has been producing ceramics and potteries and selling them all over the world. Come see artisans handcrafting ceramic items! You could even give it a try!
Your tour guide and staff will meet you at your hotel at 8:30 a.m., and we will start the Hanoi motorbike tour from your hotel to the northeast of Hanoi, where we will take the Red River dike road to the ceramic village of Bat Trang. After an hour of riding, we will arrive, park the bikes, and take a short walk around the village to learn about the daily lives of the locals and how to make quality ceramic/china production from the friendly people here.
After a short walking tour of Bat Trang, we get back on our bikes and ride to the traditional province of Bac Ninh through some rustic villages and rice fields. Lunch is served in a laid-back neighborhood restaurant.
We’ll take another walk in the afternoon to Dong Ho, a well-known folk painting village where locals create traditional paintings/folk paintings. Each painting appears simple at first glance, but each has a distinct meaning. Near the village of Dong Ho, there is a beautiful pagoda But Thap where you can learn more about the local religion and beliefs.
Following that, we’ll motorcycle back to Hanoi, where we’ll conclude the exciting Vietnam motorbike tour around Hanoi at your hotel around 4:00 p.m.
