Day 1: Hanoi Motorbike Tour to Thac Ba Lake – Vu Linh. 180 km

Starting at 8 a.m we ride up to the north side of Hanoi on a narrow, twisting road by the Red River. As we ride through the countryside and large farming regions comprised of a sea of paddy fields separated by tree-lined roads, we will be treated to spectacular views of the river and rice paddies. Discover what it’s like to live in the wild. In Doan Hung Town, we had lunch at a local eatery. Arrive in Vu Linh, a lovely Dzao village beside the Thac Ba lake, which is the world’s largest man-made lake with almost 3000 islands. You will take a boat ride around Thac Ba Lake if time permits. Dinner and a home stay in Vu Linh .

Day 2: Thac Ba lake – Ha Giang. 180 km

After breakfast, ride along the Thac Ba Lake on a little road surrounded with palm trees and spectacular mountain views to the National Road No. 2, which leads to Ha Giang, where we will spend the night. Before arriving at Tay hamlet, where we will stay in a homestay, we need stop in Ha Giang city to obtain a permission for the next motorbike journey to the Dong Van Rock Plateau and frontier area.
In the Tay’s village, stay in a local’s home and have dinner.

Day 3: Ha Giang to The Dong Van Rock Plateau. 160 km

Today will be one of the nicest motorbike tours in Vietnam. Today’s trip is primarily on tiny, winding mountain roads (that are really lovely) through the area of colorful hill tribes. We’ll be passing through some of Vietnam’s most stunning passes, including the Ma Pi Leng, or “Heaven Gate” pass. There is also an excellent opportunity to learn about and experience the vibrant culture of the indigenous tribes. It’s wonderful to watch how they manage to live in the midst of the rocks. When we get in town, we’ll have some additional time to wander the historic streets lined with H’mong residences built centuries ago with clay bricks and tile roofs.
Hotel stay in Dong Van.

Day 4: Dong Van – Bao Lac. 110 km

After breakfast, have a leisurely Vietnam motorbike tour through some magnificent mountain passes till we arrive at Meo Vac for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll ride our motorcycles downhill along the river, taking in the various mountain views ( less rocky and more green). At 5 p.m., arrive at Bao Lac.
Staying at a hotel in Bao Lac.

Day 5: Bao Lac – Ba Be Lake. 150 km

We start the day earlier, so we start riding around 8 a.m. after breakfast. Today is the finest day for an off-road Vietnam motorcycle tour. We turn onto a small and rocky road after 20 kilometers from Bao Lac, with a spectacular panorama of terrace rice paddies. Specifically, instead of riding on bamboo bridges, we must cross a few rivers. Lunch in a lovely Tay town near Ba be Lake to round off a fantastic riding day.
In the afternoon, it’s time to unwind on one of Vietnam’s most beautiful and largest natural lakes.

Day 6: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi. 240 km

We return to the Red River Delta, staying off the main route for as long as possible, traveling through areas populated by Hmong, Dao, Tay, and Nung minorities. All the way back to Hanoi, a combination of tough trail and beautiful sealed road. The fantastic North Vietnam motorcycle tour to Ha Giang will arrive in Hanoi safely ahead of rush hour.
