Day 1: Hanoi Motorbike Tour to Mai Chau – 170 km.
Our motorcycle trip the Northwest starts around 8 a.m. with a scenic drive from Hanoi’s outskirts to Mai Chau, where we will avoid heavy traffic on some roads. The terrain is small and narrow. After lunch, we’ll go for a motorcycle ride on the forgotten French road No. 6. That’s a small and winding road that runs alongside the Black River. It has a view similar to Ha Long Bay. After crossing Thung Khe pass, one of the most beautiful mountain passes in North Vietnam, we will take the road down to the mountain valley settlement of Mai Chau. (Home to white Thais who live in stilted houses.)
Dinner and overnight stay in Mai Chau – homestay
Day 2: Mai Chau – Phu Yen. – 160 km
The ride to Phu Yen is reasonably straightforward, with many of opportunities to stop for photos of the spectacular mountain surroundings. We can begin the day with a leisurely walk around the village or with a waking up café. We ride up to the direction of Moc Chau after saying our goodbyes to the Thai people. After the beautiful Hua Tat pass, turn left onto the less traveled Road 43, which leads to the Da River. We ride on a beautiful winding road until Phu Yen, where we stay overnight, after crossing the reservoir of Da river at Van Yen ferry.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Phu Yen Hotel.
Day 3 : Phu Yen – Vu Linh – 150 km.
It’s a short motorbike ride to Thac Ba Lake, but the boat tour on the picturesque Thac Ba Lake could be the highlight of this short motorcycle tours Vietnam. After having a hot rice noodle soup for breakfast, we’ll hop back on the bikes and continue our motorbike adventure up to North Vietnam, passing over some mountain passes and passing through some primitive Muong and Hmong communities nestled along the mountain back roads. We can make a pit stop at one of the local villages to interact with them and learn more about their lives, especially if we stop to photograph the Lung Lo mountain pass, one of North Vietnam’s most beautiful and hardest mountains.
We’ll take a short motorcycle trip to Thac Ba Lake after lunch in Yen Bai Town. We can take a brief boat ride around the largest man-made lake if time and weather allow.
Home stay in Vu Linh village of Dzao people who live close to the lake.
Day 4: Motorbike Tour Back to Hanoi – 180 km
We’ll motorcycle through various Dzao villages surrounded by palm trees or green tea farms after breakfast and saying our goodbyes to the pleasant host. We can also offer some off-road riding this morning, so it promises to be one of the more exciting sections of this Northern Vietnam motorcycle vacation. We will have a really delightful motorbike ride down the edge of the Red River bank after lunch at Doan Hung town, almost to the point where it combines with the Black River, after which they will flow together to Hanoi. We will get the opportunity to visit the Red River Delta. Arrive in Hanoi before rush hour and securely complete your short Vietnam motorcycle trip.
