🟢 Day 1: Hanoi to Mai Chau (140km)
After meeting our guide, we leave Hanoi for Hoa Binh to enjoy lunch. Our route then takes us across two mountains before descending into the charming mountain valley of Mai Chau, an area famous for the Thai ethnic community.
Our host for the night is a local family, who will welcome us with traditional stilt house accommodation and a home-cooked family dinner featuring regional specialties.

🟢 Day 2: Mai Chau to Vinh (300km)
Following the Ma River, we head south to join the new Ho Chi Minh Highway, built atop the original Ho Chi Minh Trail. This scenic route leads us through remote countryside, close to the Lao border.
Overnight in the coastal city of Vinh, the birthplace of Ho Chi Minh and a region of historical significance during the war.

🟢 Day 3: Vinh to Phong Nha (280km)
We continue along Highway 1, journeying deep into Vietnam’s countryside toward the Lao border. The landscape transitions into towering limestone karsts as we approach Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip into the spectacular Phong Nha Cave, one of the largest caves in the world.

🟢 Day 4: Phong Nha to Khe Sanh (210km)
Today we head into the primeval forests of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park—a classic scenic drive. Along the way, we pass key war-era locations where North Vietnamese troops crossed into Laos.
In the afternoon, we reach Khe Sanh, the site of the historic US Marine base and the famous 1968 siege during the Tet Offensive.

🟢 Day 5: Khe Sanh to Hue (160km)
After visiting the Khe Sanh Museum, with relics like Huey and Chinook helicopters, we head toward the coast. We stop at the Vinh Moc Tunnels, a vast underground village built during the war.
Then we follow the coastal road to Hue, home to the Imperial Citadel nestled beside the Perfume River.

🟢 Day 6: Hue
A relaxed day exploring Hue, with its rich heritage and compact layout. In the morning, we enjoy a light bike ride to visit the Citadel and the Thien Mu Pagoda.

🟢 Day 7: Hue to Hoi An (180km)
We travel along a picturesque coastal route, passing colorful fishing villages and endless beaches—a dramatic contrast to the mountain scenery of earlier days.
Stops include chances to dip your toes in the sea, chat with fishermen, and take photos.
Midway, we ascend the Hai Van Pass, the highest point on Highway 1, for panoramic views before descending into Hoi An, passing Danang and Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son).
